The Governers Council dropped a toll hike proposal from their agenda. The hikes which were slated for road improvements contained no provision to fund commuter rail, which Southern NH is in desperate need of. The “improvements” are already funded through the states 10 year transportation improvement plan so the need for the money is really a mystery. The vote, which was scheduled for today would have taken place with hardly any public input. I’m glad the executive council backed off on this and I hope that next time it comes around they take commuter rail into account.
